This page will be filled with all Spitfire Info I have. There will be a blog of my Triumph Spitfire 1500 I just bought, this is my first Spitfire ever. I will first start with introducing myself. I am Jean Pierre, born is 1971. After driving a pit bike when I was 10 I was hooked on the smell of dirt on a hot exhaust and the freedom of driving without a roof. Years later, when I turned 18, I bought a fiat 127 that I drove for a year. After the Fiat there was a Yamaha XJ650 build in 1982, I drove this for 150.000 km, and then bought a brand new Honda VFR750f. I was hooked of driving bikes and cars. There followed a lot of cars but the best where my Cadillac Calais from 1965 and my Cadillac DeVille convertible build in 1967 The convertible was wrecked and sold it, but I missed a open car, so I start browsing the Internet for a car to replace my convertible. And there it was, a Triumph Spitfire 1500 from 1978. I did not bye the car right away, being a old-timer fan I know there where a lot of cars in the world and most old-timers are not as good as the owner thinks it is. I made a checklist and vised some more spitfire's. The most Spitfires looked OK but when you look closer they are horrible welded together. The Spitfire I found first was not looking very good but looked technical OK, the paint was terrible though (painted by the previous owner himself). The car is a Triumph Spitfire 1500 build in 1978. its had 2 owners before me so it must be taken well care of I think. The last owner had the car for 6 years so the first owner drove the car for 28 years. It came with a hardtop and a soft top all in racing green. The weatherstrips where bad also the seats where riped to peaces. Replacing the weatherstrips and the seat will be the first job to do. What I do with the car will we in detail on the page "Spitfire 1500 story" I'm still working on this page. This site is build on May the second 2012. Last update was 30th of August 2012 ideas are welcome, mail me at info@spitje.info or on Twitter At the moment I have a new project, The site for the new project is www.SniperCustomChoppers.eu and www.Niva4x4.nl Hope you like this site Jean Pierre |
